My Story

Hello! I’m Clare; the founder of Clare Loves Vintage. I started on my vintage journey in 2020 when my job as a bridal stylist was put on hold due to the pandemic.

After months of not working, a girl can only bake so many cakes! I started to look at what I could do. I love gardening so originally I started looking for second hand gardening equipment, sieves, buckets etc. to sell on Etsy.

I soon realised that this was fairly hard to find so decided to branch out into homeware. One of my first purchases was a copper jug from the 1920’s and I was thrilled when it was stamped with the makers mark and we could do some research.  For the first year, I was taking my son along with me so while I searched for vintage goods, he was seeking out retro Lego and games which he sold on eBay. He was brilliant at researching something quickly and hey, no-one looks at a teenager on his phone. So I must credit some of my first year’s purchases to his amazingly quick Google search skills!

I’ve now been running my Etsy store for 3 years and stock an ever-changing range of vintage goods from kitchenware, mirrors, plant pots etc. and small items of furniture.

At this point I’m still running both businesses, but my dream for 2024 is to be full-time running Clare Loves Vintage.
